Beads Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of the hospice residence 'Beads Home Farm Garden Koga' in Koga City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
'Beads Home Farm Garden Koga' promotes a concept different from conventional facilities located in residential areas. It is a hospice residence designed to allow individuals to spend the final stages of their lives true to themselves in a quiet environment surrounded by lush greenery and nature.
Ahead of the opening, private viewing events are scheduled to be held on Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31, 2026.
We will continue to grow and contribute to the community to realize our vision of 'creating a future where everyone can choose the final stage of their life that is true to themselves.'
Background of the Opening As Japan faces a hyper-aging society, the importance of options that support medical treatment and end-of-life care in an environment close to home, rather than just hospitals, is increasingly growing. On the other hand, options for those who find it difficult to continue treatment at home or those who have medical and nursing care needs that cannot be supported by family alone are still insufficient depending on the region.
In December 2023, we opened 'Hospice Residence Beads Home Minami-Katae,' followed by the opening of 'Beads Home Ito no Mori.' In the approximately two years since our first opening, we have accepted a cumulative total of 130 individuals, with a 95% rate of end-of-life care within the facilities. In addition to those with terminal cancer, we have also worked on accepting individuals with intractable neurological diseases. In collaboration with local medical and nursing care professionals, we have promoted the development of 'places where individuality continues.'
'Beads Home Farm Garden Koga,' opening this time, will be our third location. Equipped with 44 rooms, which is about 1.5 times the size of our existing facilities, we will establish a system capable of accommodating more people. Furthermore, by adopting the new concept of 'lush greenery,' we are preparing to meet the requests of those who wish to spend their time peacefully in nature.
Features of 'Beads Home Farm Garden Koga' (1) A hospice residence where you can live quietly surrounded by lush nature. It is located in a place surrounded by nature. Unlike facilities in urban or residential areas, the view outside the windows reveals a farm garden orchard and the greenery of the surrounding mountains, providing an environment where you can spend time calmly while feeling the changing seasons. The name 'Farm Garden' reflects our desire for residents to spend the final stages of their lives not in a hospital-like space, but in quiet, rich nature.
(2) A place families and grandchildren 'want to visit.' The owner's thought behind opening this facility is, 'The happiness of old age lies in the time spent with family and grandchildren. In ordinary nursing homes, grandchildren are often reluctant to visit. Because it is a place to spend the rest of one's life, I want to make it a place grandchildren want to come to.' Based on this thought, the facility incorporates elements that children can also enjoy, such as a dinosaur monument, a grass sledding hill, and an orchard. We aim to create a place where visiting families can spend time together with residents and build memories.
(3) An environment to feel the seasons through orchards and gardens. The facility is adjacent to orchards and lush gardens, providing an environment where residents can enjoy harvesting fruit trees depending on the season. We believe that 'living true to oneself' means continuing to cherish everyday activities such as eating, feeling the outside air, and spending time with family, even in the presence of illness or disability.
(4) A secure system with 44 rooms and resident nurses and caregivers. In Koga, we will expand our acceptance scale compared to existing facilities to accommodate more people in the community who need a place for treatment and end-of-life care. In addition, considering the revision of systems surrounding medical and nursing care, we have established a system with resident nurses and caregivers. We will support daily life through to end-of-life care in cooperation with local medical institutions so that even those with high medical dependency, such as terminal cancer or intractable neurological diseases, can live with peace of mind.
