We propose a "third option, neither litigation nor in-house collection," to resolve unpaid tuition, course, and childcare fees resulting from bank transfer errors or failed direct debits in cram schools, preparatory schools, various schools, nurseries, and kindergartens, through dialogue while maintaining relationships with parents and students.

■ "Missed Opportunities" occurring in the field of tuition collection

It is common for cram schools, preparatory schools, various schools, nurseries, and kindergartens to collect tuition, course, and childcare fees via bank transfer or automatic direct debit. However, a certain number of direct debit errors occur every month due to "carelessness" on the part of parents/students, such as insufficient funds, changes in bank accounts, forgotten registrations during course changes, or incomplete withdrawal/cancellation procedures.

Our press release "Survey on the Actual Status of Unpaid Service Fees," distributed in February 2026, confirmed that among consumers who experienced non-payment within the past two years (1 in 5 people), "careless non-payment" due to payment errors or incomplete withdrawal/cancellation procedures accounted for the top reasons. It is believed that the same structure exists for tuition and course fee direct debit errors occurring in cram schools and school settings.

Each time such an issue arises, the administrative staff, instructors, and other staff members' time is consumed, and it is difficult to take strong action considering the relationship with parents, resulting in some unpaid amounts being left uncollected – this is an area of "missed opportunities" that has been structurally overlooked by all businesses operating tuition collection.

(2) Parents/students can complete the process on their smartphones. After notification, parents/students can choose from options such as "immediate payment," "installment payment," or "next month payment" themselves. Payment can be completed via smartphone/PC.
