[Exhibiting at the Housing Business Fair] Expanding the Role of Housing: Proposing Three Types of Residential Devices for Unmanned Delivery
The Residential Device Co-Creation Organization Preparatory Office will exhibit three new residential device concepts at the BREX Housing Business Fair. These devices—a robot underfloor storage, an automated delivery robot port, and a drone port elevator—are designed to integrate homes into the logistics network for unmanned deliveries by robots and drones. The organization will also host a seminar discussing the future of housing in an era of automated logistics.

The Residential Device Co-Creation Organization Preparatory Office will exhibit at the "BREX Housing Business Fair," a comprehensive exhibition for housing, architecture, and real estate, held at Tokyo Big Sight from Wednesday, May 13 to Friday, May 15, 2026.
At the venue, we will introduce the concepts of three types of residential devices as facilities for receiving unmanned deliveries by delivery robots and drones: the Robot Underfloor Storage, the Automated Delivery Robot Port, and the Drone Port Elevator.

On Thursday, May 14, from 14:00 to 14:30, a special seminar titled "The Ultimate Form of Unmanned Delivery Led by the Housing Industry: The New Standard for Homes in 10 Years, Assuming Package Drop-offs" will be held for free.
**Turning Homes into Logistics Infrastructure**
In recent years, streamlining last-mile logistics has become a major challenge against the backdrop of increasing delivery demand and a shortage of logistics personnel. Additionally, to prevent the increased burden on drivers from redeliveries, action is also required from the receiving end.
To address these issues, unmanned delivery technologies such as automated delivery robots and drones are being developed.
However, the facilities and systems for receiving these delivery methods at home are not yet sufficiently established.
The Residential Device Co-Creation Organization proposes positioning homes as part of the logistics network and turning them into a logistics infrastructure through "residential devices."
**Three Types of Residential Devices**
1. Robot Underfloor Storage ENNOSHITA
Robot Underfloor Storage ENNOSHITA is a new storage system that utilizes the underfloor space of single-family homes.
Image of a robot organizing packages under the floor.
In addition to automating the loading and unloading of packages, moving storage space from the living area to under the floor increases the freedom of the living space.
Furthermore, by combining it with the Automated Delivery Robot Port described later, the entire process from receiving packages to storage can be automated. Since the underfloor storage can be used, it can also handle cases where multiple packages arrive.

2. Automated Delivery Robot Port
The Automated Delivery Robot Port is a facility that automatically receives delivered packages.
Three port heights are available to accommodate different types of packages and living environments.
Received packages are automatically drawn into the room using the port's built-in conveyor or elevator. It can be used not only for automated delivery but also as a new tool for handling package drop-offs.

3. Drone Port Elevator
The Drone Port Elevator is a cargo elevator that supports aerial delivery by drones.
From delivery by drone to the package reaching your hands.
Packages received at a drone port installed in a safe location, such as a roof, are transported to the living space by the elevator. It is intended for receiving relatively lightweight packages that need to be delivered quickly, such as food deliveries.

Demonstration projects for unmanned delivery are progressing in various locations, and moves toward social implementation are accelerating. On the other hand, many bottlenecks remain on the housing side, which is responsible for the final reception.
In this seminar, we will summarize the current state of unmanned delivery, clarify the challenges on the housing side that are hindering its realization, and present a direction for solutions that the housing industry can proactively tackle. We will consider the role that housing should play in a future society that assumes package drop-offs and what will be the norm in 10 years.
