GENTLE MONSTER to Open First Duty-Free Store in Japan at Kansai International Airport

Global fashion eyewear brand Gentle Monster will open its first duty-free store in Japan at Kansai International Airport on June 2, 2026. The new Kansai International Airport store will be the brand's fourth location in Japan and its first store within the duty-free channel. Gentle Monster officially entered the Japanese market in April 2023 with its first store at Hankyu Umeda Main Store in Osaka. Subsequently, in March 2024, it opened its first flagship store in Aoyama, Tokyo, which drew large crowds and significant media attention, establishing itself as a prominent spot in Tokyo. Furthermore, in August 2025, the brand opened its second flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo, further expanding its presence in Japan. The new duty-free store at Kansai International Airport aims to expand customer touchpoints beyond urban areas to include domestic and international travelers. As Kansai International Airport is the largest international airport in Western Japan, the brand hopes to provide its unique designs and experiences to a wider global audience. Currently, Gentle Monster operates the Aoyama Flagship Store, Ginza Flagship Store, Hankyu Umeda Main Store, and the newly opening Kansai International Airport store in Japan.
