Takatakiko Glamping Resort, operated by HAMIRU (Location: Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative: Arumi Kumazaki), held a joint rice planting event on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in collaboration with Ichihara Elephant Kingdom, Hoshino Farm Takatakiko, and SUU・SUU・AGRI. This year, held for the fourth time, the event took place in rice fields utilizing compost made from the waste of elephants living at Ichihara Elephant Kingdom. The waste has soil improvement properties and is effectively utilized as a valuable organic resource in the region.

In addition, a rice harvesting experience is planned for September in the same fields. Although the Takataki area is small, it fosters a circular society that makes use of local characteristics and resources. Through this event, the organizers hope to convey the charm of Takataki by inviting the public to participate in this regional circular society.

Background of the Event This event was initiated when the objectives of Takatakiko Glamping Resort and Hoshino Farm Takatakiko aligned to revitalize the region and improve facility value. Hoshino Farm Takatakiko engages in agriculture using elephant manure from Ichihara Elephant Kingdom as compost, aiming for circular agriculture and the resolution of regional issues. Furthermore, this compost was developed by SUU・SUU・CHAIYOO Co., Ltd., which operates Thai restaurants and has expanded into agriculture in pursuit of food safety, promoting sustainable initiatives. Amidst this expansion of corporate partnerships, the event was realized through shared empathy for the desire to "make Takataki more vibrant."

Event Report Approximately 60 people participated in this year's rice planting experience. Participants included representatives from Ichihara Elephant Kingdom, Hoshino Farm Takatakiko, SUU・SUU・AGRI, Bonds, and the Johannes Research Forest course of Gyosei International High School. Participants entered the fields to plant seedlings by hand, experiencing the agricultural environment rarely encountered in daily life. After planting, feeding experiences and animal shows were held at Ichihara Elephant Kingdom.
