Tagonotsuki Co., Ltd. (Head office: 380-1 Imaizumi, Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture; Representative Director: Keisuke Makita) is pleased to announce the launch of its Instagram "Fujisan Matcha Kurofuji vs. Fujisancho Oshikatsu Campaign" today, commemorating six months since the release of its new product, "Fujisan Matcha Kurofuji" on December 13 last year.
The new sensation "Fujisan Matcha Kurofuji" challenges the long-loved king, "Fujisancho"!
"Fujisancho," in its 44th year and boasting overwhelming support, proudly secured the No. 1 spot in a popularity poll for Fujisan sweets held at Tagonotsuki's directly managed stores on February 23rd, "Fujisan Day," significantly outranking the second-place contender. It truly is an unshakeable king. "Fujisancho Ichigo Milk," a seasonal product, took second place, followed closely by "Fujisan Matcha Kurofuji" in third, and the "BIGri!? Fujisancho," a big version weighing nine times that of a regular Fujisancho, which only appears a few times a year, in fourth place.
"Fujisan Matcha Kurofuji," despite being on the market for only a few months at the time, ranked third, and is a product with high expectations for further growth. It is characterized by its impactful jet-black appearance and the rich taste of dense matcha cream, which highlights the fragrant and flavorful matcha, creating a presence that sets it apart from conventional products.
To enter this campaign, simply follow Tagonotsuki's official Instagram, like the target post, and comment in the comment section whether you support "Kurofuji" or "Fujisancho." 20 winners will be chosen by lottery to receive an assortment box (4 pieces) of "Fujisan Matcha Kurofuji" and "Fujisancho."
A special limited-time event where tradition and innovation clash. Don't miss this opportunity to tell us your "favorite."

■ About Tagonotsuki
Founded in 1952 (Showa 27), Tagonotsuki is headquartered and operates factories in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, at the foot of the world heritage site, Mount Fuji. We are dedicated to crafting exquisite confectionery using high-quality water sourced from Mt. Fuji and carefully selected ingredients. After the war, our founder returned to his hometown of Fuji City with the desire to "brighten and invigorate a disheartened and gloomy world with sweet confectionery," which marked the beginning of Tagonotsuki. We operate 22 directly managed stores in Shizuoka Prefecture, one tenant store in Kanagawa Prefecture, and also have an online shop. Our representative confections include "Tagonotsuki Monaka," filled with lightly sweetened red bean paste from Tokachi, Hokkaido, and gyuhi mochi in a fragrant crust, and "Fujisancho," a moist sponge cake filled with special custard cream smoothly made with fresh milk and fresh cream from the base of Mt. Fuji. "Fujisancho" is topped with white chocolate and coffee bean adornments, resembling a snow-capped Mt. Fuji. While inheriting the traditional techniques and beauty of wagashi (Japanese confectionery) and valuing Japanese culture, seasonality, and local characteristics, we also strive to develop "Neo-Wagashi" by incorporating elements of Western confectionery, offering products that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and nationalities. We will continue to propose Tagonotsuki-style confectionery that appeals to a wide range of customers. Corporate HP: https://tagonotsuki.co.jp/
