Sendai Uminomori Aquarium to Host Japan's First-Ever Collaboration Event with 'The Wakey Show' — 'THE WAKEY AQUARIUM'

Sendai Uminomori Aquarium, a facility dedicated to creating new connections between the ocean and people, and water and people, will host a collaboration event titled 'THE WAKEY AQUARIUM' from Friday, July 17, 2026, to Sunday, October 18, 2026. This marks the first time a Japanese aquarium has partnered with 'The Wakey Show,' an edutainment program that delivers science, nature, and art through music, dance, and games. The event features special collaborative performances by dolphins, seals, and birds set to 'The Wakey Show' music, as well as an interactive 'Animal Hunt Card' that lets guests explore the aquarium while immersing themselves in the musical world. These unique experiences allow visitors to see, learn, and play with marine life in ways available nowhere else. With different content offered in summer and autumn, guests can enjoy the event on multiple visits. The aquarium aims to deliver unforgettable moments for the whole family. THE WAKEY AQUARIUM This project introduces the wonders of the ocean alongside Wakeys, the main characters from 'The Wakey Show.' Content will change between summer and autumn, ensuring fresh experiences on every visit. From Friday, July 17, to Sunday, August 30, the 'THE WAKEY AQUARIUM: Ocean Summer Party' will feature special collaborative performances by dolphins, seals, and birds set to 'The Wakey Show' music. Guests can also enjoy the 'Animal Hunt Card,' themed around the educational song 'U! Me! Amigo!,' along with seasonal summer workshops. From Monday, August 31, to Sunday, October 18, the 'THE WAKEY AQUARIUM: Ocean Colorful Party' will present a collaborative version of 'Sparkling of Life,' showcasing around 25,000 sardines moving in dynamic, mesmerizing schools. STADIUM LIVE～THE WAKEY SPLASH‼～ For the first time, the popular dolphin, seal, and bird performance 'STADIUM LIVE' will feature voice appearances by Wakeys' friends, with special collaborative performances set to 'The Wakey Show' music. California sea lions will dance to 'U! Me! Amigo!,' while Wakey, Marie, and Mossa energize the audience during bottlenose dolphin jumps and other acts—performances you can only see here. This performance includes the aquarium’s summer tradition: the 'Summer Splash' segment, where dolphins use their powerful tails and bodies—weighing around 250 kg—to shower guests with water.
