Better life with upcycle, a craft beer brewery run by 100-year-old bakery Sakaeya Seipan, will launch 'Oriental Citrus Ale' on June 9, 2026. This upcycled craft beer is developed in collaboration with SNOA, a senior group regenerating abandoned farmland in Odawara. It utilizes unmarketable Shonan Gold citrus, grown pesticide-free, and repurposes bread crusts for 10% of the malt. Based on a German Kolsch-style ale, it features a refreshing citrus aroma with a fresh, cooling accent from Chinese Sichuan pepper. Priced at 572 yen (tax included), it has an ABV of 5.0%. A pre-launch tasting will be held at the EBINA BOOZE FEST in Ebina Central Park on June 6 and 7, 2026.
