## Latest Cooling Technologies for AI Servers/Data Centers

~Efficient Cooling of High-Heat GPUs and PUE Reduction~

### Lecturer
Mr. Naoki Kunimine, Representative Director, Thermal Design Lab Co., Ltd.

### Date & Time
Wednesday, June 10, 2026, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

### How to Attend
- Live streaming (Zoom Webinar)
- Archive streaming (available for two weeks, can be viewed at your convenience anytime)

### Key Lecture Contents
The use of AI has rapidly expanded, starting with ChatGPT. AI processing consumes more than ten times the power of search processing, and deep learning requires large-capacity, high-speed processing, leading to NVIDIA GPUs generating over 1kW of heat.

In building data centers that consolidate these, not only ICT equipment but also cooling devices such as air conditioning consume a lot of power, making PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness: = total power consumption of the data center ÷ power consumption of IT equipment) reduction a challenge. AI servers exceed the air-cooling limit of 45kW/Rack in terms of power consumption per rack, and indirect/direct liquid cooling and immersion cooling are beginning to be adopted. Data centers are making progress in power reduction through the adoption of aisle containment and efficient air conditioning systems.

This lecture will broadly explain the latest trends in these cooling technologies.

1. Increase in data processing volume due to AI proliferation and cooling technology challenges
2. Cooling of AI chips and high-performance servers
3. Advanced cooling devices supporting heat dissipation mechanisms
4. High thermal conductivity thermal interface materials (TIM) and their usage
5. Initiatives for power saving in data centers
6. Future new technologies and thermal issues
7. Q&A session
