[Key Lecture Contents]
First, we will explain the challenges surrounding the defense industry, such as low profit margins prior to the formulation of the three security documents in December 2022. Then, we will explain the various policies concerning the defense industry incorporated into the security documents formulated in December 2022, and the outline of the "Defense Production Base Reinforcement Act" enacted in June of the same year, to help participants understand what improvements have been made.
On the other hand, lessons learned from the Ukrainian war, which has lasted for over four years, highlight the urgent need to establish readiness for sustained operations, such as ammunition reserves. We will discuss the remaining challenges and directions for solutions to be included in the new three security documents, which are to be formulated a year ahead of schedule in December of this year, as well as issues related to defense equipment transfer.
