New Enoshima Aquarium (Location: Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Director: Nao Sakiyama) will hold the "Enosui Whole Dissection Exhibition" from Friday, July 3 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026. This summer, we will thoroughly dissect "Enosui" from three perspectives: "Creatures," "Technology," and "Passion"! We will introduce not only the charm of the "creatures" living at Enosui, but also the "technology" that keeps them healthy and the "passion" that supports them throughout the facility. We will deliver the fun of seeing hidden places and changing perspectives, as well as the secrets of the aquarium! Enosui Whole Dissection Exhibition Event Site ■ Introducing some of the exciting content! Dissecting the Sagami Bay Large Tank 1 The permanent exhibition "Sagami Bay Zone" introduces the treasure trove of marine life, Sagami Bay, from various angles. The first thing you see is a tank that reproduces the powerful waves crashing against the shore. We will dissect the mechanism of this tank! [Location] Sagami Bay Zone, Sagami Bay Large Tank, Side of Encounter Sea Dissecting the Sagami Bay Kids Tank We will replace part of the "Sagami Bay Kids Tank" with a transparent panel to show the inside. We will also introduce dissection diagrams of creatures, so you can peek inside their bodies! [Location] Sagami Bay Zone, Sagami Bay Kids Tank Shirasu Science: Dissecting Sardines Enosui is the only place in the world that has a permanent exhibition of "Shirasu" (larval anchovy), a local specialty of Shonan. Along with the ingenuity in breeding and raising, we will introduce the body structure of the anchovy. [Location] Sagami Bay Zone, Shirasu Science Dissecting the Sagami Bay Large Tank 2 The "Sagami Bay Large Tank," the largest tank in the facility, houses about 100 species and 10,000 fish found in the nearby Sagami Bay. We will clearly introduce the reproduction of the natural environment and the ingenuity to keep the fish healthy! We will introduce the mechanism of the tank that recreates the environment where creatures live using toxic hydrogen sulfide as an energy source, and the body structure of creatures living in special environments. Enosui has been working on breeding them since the opening of the old building. In the projection mapping "Moon of Jellyfish (Sora)" shown daily in the Jellyfish Fantasy Hall, we will dissect the secrets behind the breeding and the beautiful drifting appearance! [Location] Deep Sea II ~Shinkai 2000~ Public Maintenance of "Shinkai 2000" "Shinkai 2000" is Japan's first full-fledged submersible built for manned deep-sea research. During its operation, it conducted surveys in seas around the world, with the most frequent survey area being Sagami Bay. The popular program "Public Maintenance of Shinkai 2000" has been held every year since the exhibition began at New Enoshima Aquarium. This summer's theme is "Dissecting Shinkai 2000."
