Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store is undergoing a renovation of its "Main Building B2" (confectionery and bakery) and "East Building B2" (prepared foods and fresh produce) for the first time in 11 years, from May 2026 to autumn.

The main building floor will see approximately 70% of its space renovated through the opening of over 20 new brands and the renewal of existing stores from May to late August.

In July, the third phase of this renovation, Kyushu's first permanent stores will open, including the Tokyo-based butter cookie specialty shop "Butter States by Gin no Budou," the luxury chocolate brand "La Maison du Chocolat" founded on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, and "ANKO and," a brand from Yame, Fukuoka, that unlocks the infinite possibilities of anko (sweet bean paste).

Furthermore, locally beloved establishments such as "Mikkazukiya," "REC COFFEE," and "SAISON DES RÉCOLTES" will also open sequentially, marking a major milestone in this renovation.

"Butter States by Gin no Budou" is a specialty butter cookie shop from Tokyo, born in 2021.

About the Food Floor Renovation for the First Time in 11 Years

We aim to be a place where Kyushu's "gems" and Japan's "latest trends" intersect, a place that can only be found here in Tenjin.

● Background of Renovation

Fukuoka City, a city with one of the highest growth rates in Japan.

Within Tenjin, the largest commercial district in Kyushu, major changes in pedestrian flow have occurred due to the extension of the Nanakuma Line and the redevelopment of large buildings as part of the Tenjin Big Bang project.

Now, over 50 years since starting business in Tenjin, we are undertaking this food floor renovation to respond to "significant changes in the city and customer needs" and to seize the "opportunity to reach an increasing number of new customers."
