The Japan Meteorological Agency declared on Sunday, June 7, that the Tokai region, including Shizuoka Prefecture, has entered the rainy season (tsuyu), with the end of the season expected around Sunday, July 19 (source: JMA). For the next month, high humidity and limited sunlight will create a damp and uncomfortable climate. During this period, many people may experience reduced appetite or general fatigue. To address this, Matsuzakaya Shizuoka has curated a wide selection of light, refreshing gourmet items and seasonal specialties perfect for the rainy season.
