Matsuzakaya Nagoya Store will hold "The 43rd Hakkeyoi! Baby Crying Sumo Tournament." What is "Baby Crying Sumo"? As the saying goes, "a crying child grows well," it is a traditional Japanese event to pray for the health and growth of babies. It is an event where babies are lifted high into the sumo ring, competing to be the first to cry. At Matsuzakaya Nagoya Store, we will welcome representatives from Tochigi Prefecture's National Designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property, "Obako Shrine's Crying Sumo," to perform the sumo rituals. Additionally, a handprint art workshop will be held where participants can take home a記念 keepsake. Kids' spaces, diaper changing spaces, and nursing spaces will be available.
