We are pleased to announce that the "Pan-dorobou (Bread Thief) Exhibition" will be held at the Daimaru Kobe store from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, to Monday, April 13, 2026.
"Pan-dorobou" is a highly popular picture book series by author Keiko Shibata. With its unexpected illustrations and plot developments, it is a work enjoyed by both children and adults alike. The series has reached a cumulative total of 5 million copies sold, and with an anime adaptation scheduled for the fall of 2026, it is gaining even wider popularity.
This exhibition began at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo in August 2024 and has been touring the country; Kobe will be the 11th venue. Starting with this Kobe venue, in addition to the works previously displayed, we will be exhibiting original drawings from seven titles in the series, including "Pan-dorobou to Ringo Kamen (The Bread Thief and the Apple Mask)" and "Pan-dorobou to Sweets Ouji (The Bread Thief and the Sweets Prince)."
In addition to displaying character designs and rough sketches, new photo spots where you can experience the world of the Bread Thief are scheduled to be added starting at the Kobe venue. Please enjoy this exhibition space filled with the mischievous and surreal charm of the Bread Thief.
In the merchandise corner, we will be selling many commemorative goods using newly drawn artwork for this exhibition. New goods will also be introduced starting at the Kobe venue. We invite you and your family to come and visit the world of the Bread Thief.
