Daimaru Kobe will host the 'Keif the Bread Thief Exhibition' from Wednesday, April 1 to Monday, April 13, 2026.
'Keif the Bread Thief' is the wildly popular picture book series by author Keiko Shibata. With unexpected art and plot twists, it's a work that both children and adults can enjoy. The series has sold over 5 million copies in total, and an anime adaptation has been greenlit for Fall 2026, further expanding its massive popularity.
This exhibition kicked off at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo in August 2024 and has been touring the country, with Kobe being the 11th venue. Starting with this Kobe venue, original artwork from 7 titles in the series, including 'Keif the Bread Thief and the Apple Mask' and 'Keif the Bread Thief and the Sweets Prince', will be on display alongside previously exhibited pieces.
Additionally, alongside character designs and rough sketches, a new photo spot where visitors can experience the world of Keif the Bread Thief is planned to be added starting from the Kobe venue. Please enjoy the exhibition space packed with the mischievous and surreal fun of Keif the Bread Thief.
The merchandise corner will sell a large variety of commemorative goods featuring newly drawn illustrations for this exhibition. New goods originating from the Kobe venue will also be available. We invite families to come and immerse themselves in the world of Keif the Bread Thief.
