Shiroyama Hakubundo Co., Ltd. will begin offering early bird discount sales for the "Inu no Hesoten Hanko" (Dog's Belly-Up Hanko) on the crowdfunding service "Makuake" starting Friday, July 10.

This is the dog version of the previous hit product, "Neko Hara Hanko" (Cat Hara Hanko), which overturned the common sense of hanko design. It reproduces the "hesoten" pose where beloved dogs lie on their backs, showing their bellies.

Development Background: Following the Hit of the Previous "Neko Hara Hanko"

The "Neko Hara Hanko," released for a limited time of one and a half months from May 15th of this year, achieved its funding goal on the first day of sales and was ultimately supported by about 150 people.

We believe that its unexpectedness and playfulness, with a design that doesn't adhere to the conventional hanko norm of a cat partially obscuring the name, led to widespread support.

During the sales period, we received requests on social media and other platforms asking, "Can you make a dog version?"

Initially, we thought that the detailed design required to differentiate between dog breeds would be difficult to reproduce on a small hanko.

However, upon further consideration, we focused on the term "hesoten" (belly-up).

After repeated deliberation, we determined that this pose would allow us to express breed characteristics with a simple design, making it possible to achieve the same concept as the "Neko Hara Hanko," and proceeded with product development.

What is "Hesoten"?

It is a pose where dogs lie on their backs, showing their bellies, to convey feelings of security, trust, and affection.

The design of a dog in this pose on top of the hanko (name) is a perfect expression of the owner's feelings, a hanko that will heal you every time you use it and serve as a token of affection.
