Shiroyama Hakubundo Co., Ltd. will begin a pre-sale discount project for the 'Motto Nekohara Inkan' on the crowdfunding service 'Makuake' from May 15.

This is an innovative design stamp that overturns the common sense of hanko, reproducing the 'Nekohara' (cat harassment) phenomenon where a cat obscures part of a name.

'Nekohara' (cat harassment) is a term that describes the feelings of pet owners who cannot get angry when their cat sits on a book they are reading or on a keyboard while they are working on a computer. While the general term 'harassment' has only negative connotations, 'Nekohara' is a term that conveys the affection of pet owners.

Our company had already released a stamp named 'Nekohara Inkan,' which featured a cat reaching for a name, but we felt it lacked impact. Therefore, this time, we deliberately deviated from the common sense of hanko, which dictates that a name (character) should be stamped without being obscured, and designed a cat sitting in a box pose to obscure part of the name. This allowed us to faithfully reproduce the meaning of 'Nekohara.'
