In Ooi Town, Ashigarakami District, Kanagawa Prefecture, there is a cherry blossom field that cultivates special "edible cherry blossoms." The widely known "sakura tea" is made by pouring hot water over salted cherry blossoms and is enjoyed as a good luck charm.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production has drastically decreased, and the aging of farmers has also led to a decline in their numbers, resulting in a severe distribution situation. Therefore, to support farmers, we have planned "Cherry Blossom Flower Picking and Salting Experience" events. Why not experience working with cherry blossoms alongside the farmers?
On the day of the event, participants will enjoy cherry blossom viewing with "Sakura Onigiri" (cherry blossom rice balls) made by mixing finely chopped salted cherry blossoms into farmer-recommended straw-cooked rice. After the viewing, everyone will pick cherry blossoms and try making salted cherry blossoms as a souvenir!
Home Delivery Service Also Available
For those unable to visit in person, rest assured. We offer a service that brings the satoyama (countryside) lifestyle to your home, delivering fresh cherry blossoms directly to you.
