Nagoya City Adopts "Surala" for Truancy Support in All Municipal Elementary and Junior High Schools

The number of truant students in elementary and junior high schools within the city exceeded 6,000 in fiscal year 2025, showing a significant increase over the past five years.

In response to this situation, the Nagoya City Board of Education formulated the "Nagoya Heart Plan" in March 2025, aiming to enhance the system for supporting diverse learning by creating places other than classrooms within schools, expanding the functions of educational support centers, providing online support utilizing the metaverse, and collaborating with private organizations (facilities).
