Aichi Prefecture's Minamichita Town Introduces Post-Payment Furusato Nozei Service "Atoful®"

Densan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Jun Kawano; hereinafter "Densan") and Minamichita Town, Aichi Prefecture (Mayor: Kazuhiko Ishiguro; hereinafter "Minamichita Town") have agreed to introduce the post-payment Furusato Nozei service "Atoful®" (hereinafter "Atoful")*1, which is based on local consumption, and have decided to jointly promote its full-scale operation in the town.

Furusato Nozei using Atoful will be available at multiple registered facilities (accommodation, dining, experiences, etc.) within Minamichita Town, Aichi Prefecture.

Background of Atoful Introduction

The impetus for its introduction was the utilization examples of Atoful in municipalities that had previously adopted it. We felt that the system, which allows people to connect their feelings of empathy and desire to support the region to donations after actually visiting the area and enjoying meals, accommodation, and sightseeing, is a new donation experience different from traditional Furusato Nozei, which primarily aims to receive return gifts.

Minamichita Town has tourist resources such as Himakajima and Shinojima islands, and receives many tourists throughout the year. The town focused on Atoful as a means to develop relationships with visitors into ongoing ones, rather than just consumption during their travels.

Furthermore, Furusato Nozei donations received by Minamichita Town are often used for the promotion of local industries and the improvement of educational environments for children, and are chosen by many donors as support for policies that lead to the town's future. With the introduction of Atoful, we aim to create new opportunities for people who have actually experienced the town's charm to empathize with the creation of the region's future and convey those feelings in the form of donations.

In the future, Minamichita Town will utilize Atoful as a system to connect the experience of visiting the town with support for the region, targeting a wide range of visitors including day-trippers, overnight guests, and families visiting for activities, thereby promoting the creation of related populations and the revitalization of the local economy.
