Minobu Town, Yamanashi Prefecture Introduces Post-Payment Furusato Tax Donation Service 'AtofuruⓇ'

Densan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Jun Kono; hereinafter 'Densan') and Minobu Town, Yamanashi Prefecture (Mayor: Miyaya Mochizuki; hereinafter 'Minobu Town') have agreed to introduce the post-payment hometown tax donation service 'AtofuruⓇ' (hereinafter 'Atofuru'), and will jointly proceed with its full-scale implementation in the town.

Residents and visitors will now be able to make hometown tax donations via 'Atofuru' at multiple registered facilities within Minobu Town, including accommodations, restaurants, and experiential tourism sites.

Background of Introducing 'Atofuru'

As the hometown tax donation market continues to grow annually, Minobu Town has decided to introduce the post-payment hometown tax donation service 'Atofuru' to create new touchpoints with donors and expand donation opportunities.

Minobu Town boasts rich historical and cultural assets such as Minobu-san Kuon-ji Temple, along with numerous nature-based tourism and experiential offerings. This makes it highly compatible with experience-based hometown tax donation programs. With the introduction of 'Atofuru', tourists and families visiting from within and outside the prefecture during summer vacations and other periods can now experience unique local offerings—such as lodging, dining, and day-trip hot springs—and subsequently make donations based on their memorable experiences.

By leveraging the unique 'Atofuru' mechanism—where donations are made after high satisfaction from travel and tourism experiences—the town aims to create a new entry point for hometown tax donations, broaden awareness of Minobu Town’s charms, and foster the creation of sustained relational populations.
