[Kintetsu Department Store Wakayama Store] July is packed with events!! From "Gourmet Festival" to "Flying Tiger" and "World Insect Exhibition," exciting projects are coming one after another!!

The "Gourmet Festival," where "deliciousness" gathers once every six months, is finally here!

Kintetsu Department Store Wakayama Store will hold the "Gourmet Festival" from Wednesday, July 8th to Tuesday, July 21st.

The first phase (Wednesday, July 8th to Tuesday, July 14th) will feature a wide range of offerings, including luxurious bento boxes from "Jojoen" and "Sapporo Kanikosen" demonstration bento boxes, as well as exquisite sweets making their debut.

"Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory," which offers sweets filled with the charm of milk and cheese with the concept of "more freedom, more deliciousness," will make its first appearance at the Wakayama store. Additionally, "Nenrinya" will offer two types of Baumkuchen with different textures (Straight Baum Soft / Mount Baum Firm Bud), as well as a set of bite-sized Baumkuchen for summer only.

The second phase (Wednesday, July 15th to Tuesday, July 21st) will also feature an attractive lineup.

In addition to "Sekai no Yamachan" and "Sushidokoro Zako-tei," which will have live sales, a special event "Fresh Bluefin Tuna Dissection and Sale" will be held from 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18th. Furthermore, a variety of brands will be featured, including the "Selection of Famous Picture Book Cookie Cans" which are fun just to look at, and debut stores such as "Waffle Holic" and "The Bagel Stand." We will also offer popular daily rotating sweets that you'll want to try every day.

"Flying Tiger Copenhagen," a unique design goods store born in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stores worldwide, mainly in Europe, will hold a limited-time POP UP STORE at the 5th-floor event space of "Kintetsu Department Store Wakayama Store" from Friday, July 17th, 2026, to Monday, October 19th, 2026, following last year's highly successful event. This time, through our first summer event, we will provide a fun shopping experience typical of Flying Tiger Copenhagen to those who have never experienced the brand before.

Exciting Summer Vacation! "World Insect Exhibition" featuring 24 types of live insects!

The "World Insect Exhibition," displaying 24 types of live insects, will be held from Thursday, July 30th, 2026, to Sunday, August 16th, 2026.

You can also enjoy interacting with the impressive Hercules beetle and making specimen crafts, perfect for summer homework.

This year, as a new sensory experience, we will exhibit surprising live insects such as "Scorpions" that glow eerily under a light in the dark, and "Chalcosoma atlas" which emits a peach-scented pheromone when mature.
