Shindo Distillery to Release First Blended Japanese Whisky 'SHINDO The Blended 2026 - Non Peated' Nationwide on June 15

Shindo Distillery, operated by Shinozaki Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hiramatsu, Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture), is set to launch its first blended Japanese whisky, 'SHINDO The Blended 2026 - Non Peated,' nationwide on June 15, 2026.

This product is the inaugural release in the 'SHINDO The Blended' series, developed based on the distillery's philosophy of 'THE QUEST FOR THE ORIGINAL.'

It features a blend of malt whisky produced at Shindo Distillery and grain whisky from Asakura Distillery. Responding to customer demand for a whisky that is more accessible and casual for daily consumption, such as in water-splits or highballs, the distillery has focused on creating this specific blend.

Key features of 'SHINDO The Blended 2026 - Non Peated' include:

- Utilization of locally sourced Asakura barley
The raw material used is 'Haruka Nijo' barley from Asakura, Fukuoka. This variety is well-suited for brewing, offering high alcohol yield and excellent processing characteristics.

- Clean and light grain spirit using dual distillation methods
Produced at Asakura Distillery, the grain whisky utilizes both a single pot still capable of vacuum distillation and a hybrid still with a copper pot. This process minimizes off-notes and undesirable odors, resulting in a clean spirit.

- Harmonious blending
The blend combines the light mouthfeel of the grain whisky with the richness and milky sweetness derived from the malt. It features a harmonious balance of vanillic sweetness from bourbon casks, fresh fruity notes from wine casks, and the oriental sweetness of Mizunara oak.
