Contemporary Artist Kosuke Motohashi's Solo Exhibition 'Uzo Mujo' to be Held at Tofukuji Komyo-in, Kyoto from Friday, May 15

We are pleased to announce the solo exhibition 'Uzo Mujo' by contemporary artist Kosuke Motohashi at Tofukuji Komyo-in in Kyoto. The exhibition will run from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 31, 2026. A reception will be held on Saturday, May 16 from 18:00 to 21:00. This exhibition, 'Uzo Mujo', uses toilet paper as a motif to explore the theme of 'Mujo' (impermanence) – the idea that everything in this world changes and eventually flows away. At the venue, new works will be unveiled all at once, including mandalas, hanging scrolls representing the impermanent universe, and digital signage of NFT works participating in 'Quantumism', a project that archives once-in-a-lifetime encounters on the blockchain. Additionally, a large-scale installation work created in collaboration with architect Hitoshi Yamaguchi will be exhibited in the main hall. Furthermore, at the reception on Saturday, May 16, coinciding with the night viewing at Komyo-in, a special viewing experience using Japanese candles and a collaborative production program by the artist and participants are planned.
