The Okinawa Prefectural Products Corporation (President: Toru Higa) is releasing the 'Salt Chinsuko Sand,' an evolution of the traditional Okinawan confectionery, Chinsuko. This new sweet consists of crispy salt Chinsuko, made with Chatan salt from Okinawa, sandwiching a layer of white chocolate with puffed rice.

■ Product Features
This sandwich features a cute, round shape reminiscent of a macaron.
The round Chinsuko has a crispy texture with a gentle sweetness and just the right amount of salt. It is a satisfying sweet that pairs perfectly with smooth white chocolate containing puffed rice.

■ Development Background
Product development began about a year ago. We confirmed what kind of product would leverage the strengths of both Nanpo and the Okinawa Prefectural Products Corporation. To create a product that lets more people know about Okinawa's resources and charm, and to appeal both inside and outside the prefecture for sales expansion, we embarked on a project to evolve the famous Chinsuko. As a result, a new product was born: Chinsuko containing salt from Okinawa, surrounded by the sea, sandwiched with white chocolate.

The package design incorporates Shuri Castle and the Ukimichi path, set against Okinawa's blue sky. We aim for this to be chosen as an Okinawan souvenir by many who are looking forward to the reconstruction of Shuri Castle, which will be completed in the fall.
