Suisei Inc. (Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) is pleased to announce that construction has commenced on a new hotel development project in Nihonbashi Hamacho, Tokyo. This project proposes a new form of stay while inheriting the history and living context that Nihonbashi Hamacho has cultivated over many years. It aims to create an open base for the town through lodging, dining, retail, and community collaboration.

Project Background
Nihonbashi Hamacho once functioned as "another place to stay in Tokyo," lined with secondary and storehouse residences for those staying in Edo during their sankin-kotai (alternate attendance) journeys. It flourished as a red-light district during the Taisho era and developed as a food distribution hub after the war. Currently, it is an area where living and working coexist, fostering vibrant energy and warm living culture.
Yasuda Real Estate Co., Ltd., the owner of this project, has been promoting town development in Nihonbashi Hamacho for many years, working to enhance the town's value through offices, residences, and commercial facilities. As an extension of this effort, this project is not just a standalone real estate development but is being advanced as part of an initiative to enhance the appeal of the entire town.
Suisei Inc., which will manage the hotel, views hotels not merely as lodging facilities but as media that mediate "between people," "between people and space," and "between people and culture," and has undertaken multiple hotel developments. For this project as well, the need for a lodging experience designed with the context of Nihonbashi Hamacho in mind led to their participation.
Redefining Stays in Tokyo
While Tokyo as a city is constantly being renewed, it is also a place where deep connections between individuals can be difficult to form. This project explores a spatial concept that allows individuals to confront the flow of time and their own senses through their stay in such an urban environment.
The value here lies not only in visual richness such as materials and decorations but also in the quality of experiences created through how the space is used and how time is spent. The architectural design and supervision are handled by the range design, and the interior/facade design by OFFICE YUASA. While leveraging the characteristics of the existing buildings, they are constructing a space that realizes a tranquil stay within the city.
Relationship with Nihonbashi Hamacho Town Development
This hotel is positioned as a facility for external visitors, and at the same time, a place that connects with the daily lives of the people living in Nihonbashi Hamacho.
The first floor will feature a cafe, restaurant, and shop open to the town, with a circulation plan that allows for natural interaction between guests and local residents. The aim is to create a base where visitors can experience the atmosphere and rhythm of Nihonbashi Hamacho, not as a consumption activity extending from Tokyo tourism, but as a place that is an extension of their daily lives.
Future Developments
Construction for this project is scheduled to begin in April 2026, with an opening planned for 2027. Information regarding facility details and content will be announced sequentially.
