Funds from this initiative are intended to be used by the Tokyo Metropolitan Animal Welfare Consultation Center for general animal welfare activities, including the purchase of medicines for rescued dogs and cats.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity today. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Tokyo Metropolitan Animal Welfare Consultation Center and everyone who cooperated with and supported this project. As a dog owner myself, I had long wondered if there was any way I could contribute through sports, so I am very happy to see this take shape, however small. I hope this activity will serve as an opportunity for more people to learn about rescued dogs and cats.

We are deeply grateful to Shinnosuke Tokugawa and everyone at the Tokyo United Basketball Club for cooperating with our Center's operations. Our Center protects dogs and cats and works to connect them with new owners. We will be receiving donations based on the players' steal counts.

Basketball is a team sport; beyond the players who score points, various plays connect the ball to ensure victory. Our Center's work is similar, connecting various hopes, and I feel there is a connection here. We will utilize the donations received today to connect as many rescued dogs and cats as possible with new owners.

## About the Tokyo Metropolitan Animal Welfare Consultation Center

This is a Tokyo facility working toward a society where people and animals live in harmony, conducting animal welfare and management initiatives. Their work includes promoting proper ownership, monitoring pet shops, rescuing injured dogs and cats, and temporarily sheltering animals whose owners can no longer care for them due to reasons such as aging, coordinating with volunteers to transfer them to new owners.

## Visit to the Center

Player Tokugawa visited the medical room where rescued animals are treated, listened seriously to staff, spent time interacting with rescued cats, and paid respects at the memorial monument.
