Hitachi High-Tech Corporation (hereinafter, Hitachi High-Tech) will establish "Innovation Center Eindhoven" (hereinafter, the Center), a development base focused on technology development related to semiconductor measurement and inspection, within High Tech Campus Eindhoven*1 (Kingdom of the Netherlands, hereinafter, the High Tech Campus) in July 2026. The High Tech Campus is Europe's largest open innovation hub, integrating advanced semiconductor-related technologies, where over 300 companies and 12,500 people gather to develop technologies and products. At the Center, Hitachi High-Tech will engage in technology development through open innovation with local academia and deep tech companies*2. By leveraging the environment at the High Tech Campus, which is equipped to conduct everything from principle verification to value verification of developed technologies in a one-stop manner, the company aims to shorten the time from new technology development to productization and market launch. This will enable the creation of innovative digitalized assets that combine new technologies tailored to customer needs with advanced AI, including Physical AI, and will drive industrial innovation globally, primarily in the semiconductor field, through HMAX Industry.

*2 Deep Technology Companies: Companies that conduct business by leveraging scientific discoveries and innovative technologies that solve societal challenges and have a significant impact on people's lives and society.
Background
The rapid spread of AI is currently increasing data traffic, leading to active capital investment in data centers and base stations. Furthermore, the demand for semiconductor devices is expanding, with the implementation of Physical AI, which functions in the real world, progressing in areas such as EVs (electric vehicles) and autonomous driving technology. The semiconductor-related market is expected to continue to grow and expand. Along with market growth, continuous technological innovation is essential. As semiconductor miniaturization, 3D integration, and stacking advance, solutions to complex challenges are required to keep pace with these technological innovations.
Background and Overview of the Center's Establishment
To address these increasingly complex technical challenges faced by semiconductor manufacturers, Hitachi High-Tech is advancing research and development through strengthened collaboration with external partners, including academia and companies. As part of this initiative, Hitachi High-Tech has been advancing research on electron beam technology, a core technology of the company, with partners such as Delft University of Technology*3 and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research*4. While considering various aspects of implementing research results into products, Hitachi High-Tech decided to establish the Center to accelerate the Lab to Fab*5 process in its product development to production, thereby providing value to customers more rapidly. Leveraging the High Tech Campus's extensive knowledge in electron beams and semiconductors, as well as its open innovation culture, the company aims to achieve speedy and innovative development, and to shorten the time to market and time to mass production. Hitachi High-Tech Europe GmbH will primarily operate the Center, hiring local staff and actively pursuing not only the development of technologies currently in progress but also various other development projects. Furthermore, in the future, the company plans to expand collaborations with academia and deep tech companies in various regions of Europe, with a focus on the Netherlands.
Hitachi High-Tech, belonging to Hitachi's Connective Industries (CI) sector, Industrial Solutions Business Unit, is focusing on "HMAX Industry," a suite of next-generation solutions that combine domain knowledge and advanced AI with data from a rich installed base of products (digitalized assets). Aiming to be a leader in Physical AI, the company strives to contribute to the realization of a prosperous society by maximizing customer lifetime value and transforming industries globally through the provision of "Industrial Solutions" centered on these offerings.
