Nippon Kodo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Yoshiyuki Tsuchiya) will launch 'Hana no Shiori' (meaning 'Floral Bookmark'), a new brand of gifting incense, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. It will be available at fragrance specialty stores, Buddhist altar stores, department stores, and other retailers nationwide.

Amidst the diversification of funeral practices, the desire to respectfully send off loved ones is increasing, and gifting incense is increasingly sought after for its ability to convey heartfelt emotions, individuality, and warmth. In response to this background, Nippon Kodo developed this brand as a new product that is approachable and caters to the individuality of both the giver and receiver.

A new gifting incense brand that delivers the emotions entrusted to flowers through fragrance

'Hana no Shiori' is a gifting incense featuring ten floral scents housed in a paulownia box, developed under the concept of 'gifting with deep respect and affection for each irreplaceable story.' Each of the ten varieties—plum, cherry blossom, rose, carnation, tachibana orange, iris, hydrangea, sunflower, osmanthus, and narcissus—is accompanied by a flower meaning, proposing them as gifts imbued with thoughts for the recipient.

While keeping smoke minimal, it achieves a distinctive floral fragrance. It can be used not only for memorial services but also as a room fragrance when guests visit or during relaxation time.

For the packaging, a design depicting flowers adorning a Western-style mansion and its garden through a 'window' has been adopted. Based on a deep brown, gold-edged flowers shine mystically, resulting in a design that exudes tranquility and dignity.
