Amidst the aging of water and sewer facilities and the decline of skilled personnel familiar with maintenance and management, promoting "Water and Sewer DX"—the advancement and increased efficiency of maintenance using digital technologies—is considered crucial to stably provide water and sewer services into the future.
Against this backdrop, to encourage the introduction of digital technologies in the water and sewer sector, MLIT formulated the "Water and Sewer DX Technology Catalog" and released it in March 2025.
