Denshisha Co., Ltd. will co-host, in collaboration with JTB Corporation and Central Pacific Bank, the "Hawaii and U.S. Market Entry Strategy Tour" for business executives and overseas expansion leaders, starting November 23, 2026 (Mon).

This 3-night, 5-day intensive program goes beyond simple site visits by incorporating fieldwork using North American-originated CX (customer experience) design methodologies, networking with Japanese-descendant entrepreneurs active in Hawaii, and cross-industry idea exchange sessions. Participants will experience their "first step" toward entering the U.S. mainland market in Honolulu—a destination favored by global high-net-worth individuals.

Why Hawaii Now?

Hawaii boasts an annual consumer spending volume of 3 trillion yen (approximately 20 billion USD), 77% of which comes from visitors from the U.S. mainland, making it one of the premier premium consumption markets in the United States.

・3 trillion yen: Hawaii's annual consumer spending (77% from U.S. mainland)

・Approx. 40,000 yen/day: Average daily spending per person (250–280 USD). A high-income, high-spending demographic with an average age of 49 and average stay of 9 days

・Premium made in Hawaii: A strategy to expand into the U.S. mainland by leveraging products and experiences first introduced in Hawaii

Honolulu attracts affluent, high-spending consumers who hold favorable views toward "Japan brands," making it an ideal environment for launching Japanese products and services into the U.S. market. Using Honolulu—increasingly recognized by wealthy consumers from the U.S. and South Korea—as a foothold, expansion into the U.S. mainland becomes a tangible reality.

Three Pillars of the Program

1 North American-Style CX Workshop (ClueScan Fieldwork + Idea Session)

Utilizing authentic customer experience design methods developed in North America, participants will observe the local environment through the eyes of consumers. By recording experiences through all five senses—seeing, hearing, and feeling—the program identifies what premium consumers and tourists truly value in their purchasing experiences.

Following fieldwork, data analysis, insight extraction, and cross-industry idea sessions will be conducted at the hotel. These sessions will translate observations into concrete ideas on how to communicate and deliver participants' products and services effectively.

2 Networking with Japanese-descendant Entrepreneurs Active in Hawaii

Through Central Pacific Bank's network, participants will engage in dialogue with Japanese-descendant entrepreneurs who have successfully built businesses in Hawaii. Two Q&A sessions and a networking dinner will provide participants with practical, on-the-ground insights.

3 Comprehensive Post-Tour Support

In addition to JTB's reliable travel arrangements and expert coordination, support from mct and Central Pacific Bank will continue after the tour, enabling follow-up consultations upon return to Japan.
