Atsugi Micro Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 366 Hase, Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director: Yasuhiko Ueda), a manufacturer and seller of OLED-related parts and optical components, has fully launched a new project called the "Atsugi Micro Grand Renovation Plan" aimed at creating a more comfortable workplace environment that can compete with major companies and improving the image of the manufacturing industry. The project was also triggered by the company's 20th anniversary in July 2027.

Major Revisions for Better Work Environment and Image

The company aims to dispel the "dark" and "old" image often associated with the electronic parts and surface treatment industry, and to create a workplace where both new graduates and mid-career candidates feel "I want to work here." Taking the 20th anniversary as a milestone, the company will simultaneously work on boosting employee morale and strengthening recruitment competitiveness.

In this project, the company is implementing fundamental revisions on both software and hardware fronts. As the first phase, the following measures have been undertaken:

[Hardware] - Renewal of the main factory exterior: Exterior painting was carried out to improve waterproofing. The design painting, based on Atsugi Micro's corporate colors and a two-tone color scheme, gave the exterior a fresh new look. - Installation of focus booths: Dedicated focus booths for online meetings were newly installed inside the building. - Renovation of the cafeteria: The cafeteria, a relaxation space for employees, was remodeled. - Uniform renewal: The old uniforms, which were heavy and contributed to shoulder stiffness, were replaced with lightweight, stylish designs. In line with this, the old uniforms (about 200 sets) were sent to a specialized recycler from an SDGs perspective, leading to a reduction of approximately 6 tons of CO₂ emissions.

[Software] - Establishment of three consultation desks: New desks for harassment consultations, mental health consultations, and comprehensive health consultations were set up. - 24-hour system: All desks are available 24/7 for employees to consult with specialists. - Revision of work rules: Work rules were revised to reflect the actual working conditions.

Comment from Representative Director Yasuhiko Ueda "We launched this project by first reviewing the environment so that everyone feels 'I want to work here.' Achieving such a workplace environment is rare among small and medium-sized enterprises. We hope this will lead to hiring young talent."

Future Developments Toward the 20th anniversary in July 2027, the company will accelerate this project further, aiming to build an advanced workplace environment model in the manufacturing industry.
