[Osaka Citizen Participation] Your Artwork Will Color the Night Sky. SKY BILLBOARD PROJECT "Osaka's Night Sky Art Piece Created by Everyone in Osaka" Accepting Submissions!

Kyowa Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naniwa-ku, Osaka; President: Makiko Hayashi) has launched the "SKY BILLBOARD PROJECT," Japan's first permanent urban advertising drone show project, on June 5, 2026, aiming to further revitalize the Shinsekai area of Osaka and promote nighttime tourism. The project will be held at "Maruhan Shinsekai Store" (Naniwa-ku, Osaka), operated by Maruhan West Japan Company.

We are now launching the Osaka citizen participation project "Osaka Citizen Participation Project: Your 'Beloved Osaka' to the Shinsekai Night Sky!" and starting to accept artwork submissions on our official website.

SKY BILLBOARD PROJECT was born as Japan's first permanent urban advertising drone show, set in the Shinsekai area of Osaka.

Our goal is not just a drone show.

"Let's create Osaka's night sky, together with everyone in Osaka."

We launched this project with the desire to transmit this new culture from Osaka.

In this project, we are seeking hand-drawn illustrations from Osaka residents on the theme of "Beloved Osaka."

Submission Theme: Beloved Osaka

Express your favorite Osaka scenery, food, people, culture, etc., with your free imagination.

Submission Period: 1st Round (July 1 - July 31)

2nd Round (August 1 - August 31)

3rd Round (September 1 - September 30)

4th Round (October 1 - October 31)

5th Round (November 1 - November 30)

6th Round (December 1 - December 31)

Number of Selected Works: 1-3 works to be selected each month

Anyone from children to adults, students, working professionals, families, and friends, as long as you are an Osaka resident, can apply.

Your individual artworks will come together to create one large art piece in Osaka's night sky.

"SKY BILLBOARD PROJECT" Implementation Overview

Venue: Rooftop of Maruhan Shinsekai Store

Viewing Area: Shinsekai Area *Maruhan Shinsekai Store and its rooftop parking lot are off-limits.

Implementation Period: For one year from June 5, 2026, every Friday (*Dates may be subject to change.)

Show Content: Approximately 15-minute LED light animation show by 300 drones

Show Highlights: Dynamic light performances unfold against the backdrop of the Shinsekai night sky. Monthly changing animations are vividly depicted in the night sky.

*As of May 2026, based on our research of publicly available information. This is the first permanent operational drone show in an urban tourist area in Japan.

<Event Precautions>

*Changes/Cancellations due to Weather

In case of bad weather such as rain or strong winds, the show time may be changed or the show may be canceled.

*Prohibition of Nuisance Behavior

Unauthorized entry onto private property and unauthorized parking on surrounding roads and commercial facilities are strictly prohibited. Please refrain from any behavior that may disturb nearby residents or businesses.

*Prohibition of Bringing Drones, etc.

Bringing and flying small unmanned aerial vehicles (drones, etc.) in the vicinity of the flight area is strictly prohibited.

*Restricted Areas

For safety reasons, please do not enter any restricted or prohibited areas.

*Trouble and Accidents
