Hakkaisan Hosts Pairing Event with Takashi Tomii and Shiho Sakamoto on July 11th (Sat)

Hakkaisan Brewery (Headquarters: Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, President: Mahito Nangun) will host the 'Takashi Tomii x Shiho Sakamoto x Hakkaisan' Pairing Event on July 11th, 2026 (Saturday) at the Hakkaisan Snow Room within the 'Uonuma no Sato' complex (Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture).

This event will feature an exhibition of works by woodworker Takashi Tomii from Oguni Town, Nagaoka City, using his creations to present a pairing of wagashi by artist Shiho Sakamoto and Hakkaisan sake.

Sakamoto's creations are inspired by Tomii's works, offering a beautiful world of wagashi that highlights the appeal of the ingredients. Each piece is meticulously crafted, not only offering a delightful taste but also a visual feast. The event will bring together Tomii's warm and inviting woodwork, Sakamoto's delicate wagashi, and Hakkaisan's sake, creating a new form of enjoyment through the fusion of these artisanal creations.

Both Tomii and Sakamoto are expected to attend the event.

'Takashi Tomii Exhibition' @ Uonuma no Sato okatte

This exhibition of works by Takashi Tomii, created in Oguni Town, Nagaoka City, will be held at Uonuma no Sato for the first time in two years. Tomii's creations exude a gentle and calming atmosphere that reflects his personality. This exhibition will feature a variety of tableware designed to last, with pieces that develop a unique patina and charm over time. Please take this opportunity to view his works.
