Teaser Visual for the Documentary Film "Orange Days ~Living Daily with Dementia~"

"My life is over because of dementia? Absolutely not!"

After being diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's dementia at the age of 39, Tomofumi Tanno has encouraged many people with dementia through lectures and support services. In 2023, he also became the model for the protagonist of the film "Orange Lamp" (starring Shihori Kanjiya and Masato Wada / Directed by Mitsuhiro Mihara / Released in 2023).

For this new film, Hideyuki Yamakuni, who has produced numerous works on caregiving, medical care, and welfare such as "Orange Lamp" and the "Care Ning" series, will serve as planner and producer. Director Koya Sasaki, known for "Me, Care Ning, and the Grandmothers," will closely follow Mr. Tanno's current life, observing his daily routine with care.

In addition to Mr. Tanno, the film will feature other individuals living with dementia who are active in various regions, as well as their partners, showcasing the reality of a "new perspective on dementia."

A Message from Tomofumi Tanno

Tomofumi Tanno

Some viewers of the film "Orange Lamp" commented, "A company and community this understanding probably doesn't exist in reality." However, I continue to work and live with the support of many friends. This is not just a story in a movie; it is my real life. That is precisely why I decided to cooperate with this documentary film. At first glance, it might seem like I am living an ordinary life. However, every day involves anxieties and confusion, yet I continue to find ways to live positively and true to myself. I would be happy if through this film, people could understand the life of a person with dementia, cherishing each day.

Introduction

Even after developing dementia, people can laugh, work, and live supporting each other.

This documentary follows the "current" daily life of Tomofumi Tanno, who continues to speak out nationwide as a person with dementia.

Even with dementia, each day continues.

There are days to laugh, and days to feel down.

People live their lives true to themselves, supporting others while being supported.

This film closely follows Mr. Tanno's life, while also carefully portraying the lives of other people with dementia he encounters in his daily life.

And also, Mr. Tanno's own anxieties...

The people appearing in this film are not special individuals.

They are people living right next to us.

The "ordinary days" of living with dementia are much brighter and warmer than one might imagine.

There is not only anxiety, but also hope, connection, and a tangible sense of being alive.

This is a story that we want you to know now, for your future selves and your families.
