Sapporo Transport Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of LogiNet Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Sapporo, Hokkaido; Representative Director, President & Executive Officer: Junbi Hashimoto), is strengthening its "temperature-controlled logistics" system within its business area in Hokkaido. This system allows for the storage and transportation of goods while maintaining a constant temperature.

In 2025, the national average summer temperature was the highest since records began, resulting in unprecedented heatwaves. In Hokkaido, too, the average summer temperature (June-August) reached an all-time high, and Kitami City recorded a seasonal maximum of 39.0℃, indicating persistent severe heat. The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts that this year will also see higher-than-average temperatures.

To address increasingly severe climate change and diversifying customer needs, Sapporo Transport will, from fiscal year 2026, increase the number of temperature-controlled transport vehicles across Hokkaido and enhance the temperature-controlled capabilities of its key warehouses in the Sapporo area, thereby expanding its logistics services optimized for climate conditions.

*What is Temperature-Controlled Transport?

It is a method of storing and transporting goods while maintaining an appropriate temperature to preserve the quality of items such as food. Unlike room temperature, refrigeration, or freezing, it uses a temperature control device to maintain a temperature between 10℃ and 20℃. By keeping the internal temperature below the outside temperature and constant, temperature-sensitive goods can be safely stored and transported without quality degradation due to temperature changes.

1. Equipment Details and Operational System

Temperature-Controlled Transport Vehicles

By increasing temperature-controlled transport vehicles for trunk line transport connecting the Sapporo area and various bases within Hokkaido, as well as for the distribution network at each base within Hokkaido, the company will strengthen transportation in stable temperature zones.

Temperature-Controlled Warehouses

The temperature-controlled area of the "Oyachi Warehouse," located within the "Oyachi Distribution Business Park," Hokkaido's largest logistics hub, will be expanded. This warehouse is a key logistics base for our group in the Sapporo area, offering excellent access to the JR container base, the Doto Expressway, and the Sasson Expressway, and its temperature-controlled capabilities will be enhanced as a starting point warehouse for trunk line transport within Hokkaido.

2. Future Development

Our group operates logistics services utilizing various land, sea, and air transport methods, with a nationwide network covering Hokkaido to Okinawa, under the brand name "LNJEX."

Starting with the reinforcement of temperature-controlled operations in the Hokkaido area, our group will expand this initiative nationwide. By developing logistics infrastructure and providing services optimized for the progression of climate change and customer needs, we will expand LNJEX and strengthen our safe, high-quality logistics system.
