What is the Metalo-Balance (MB) Test?
The Metalo-Balance Test is a risk screening (triage) test that objectively evaluates the risk of cancer and MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) at the time of blood draw by analyzing the concentration balance of 17 trace elements (metallic elements) in the blood.
### Key Features of the Test
- Only one 6mL blood draw: Blood is safely collected under the proper management of medical institutions. The test takes approximately 15 minutes, minimizing physical burden and ensuring safety.
- Site-specific 'Cancer Risk Test': With a single blood draw, cancer risks are evaluated by body site (6 sites for men, 9 for women) and scored on a four-tier scale from A to D. - [Men] Lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer - [Women] Lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer
- Comprehensive 'Cognitive Risk Test (MCI Risk Assessment)': Evaluates all types of MCI, including Alzheimer's type, vascular type, and Lewy body type.
- Proven research results and international recognition: Developed through joint research with Kanagawa Prefectural Cancer Center and Chiba Prefectural Cancer Center, supported by a research grant from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Go-Tech program. Patented in 9 countries including Japan, with over 100,000 individuals tested cumulatively (from April 2019 to March 2026).
