## What is the Metalo-Balance (MB) Test?

The Metalo-Balance Test is a risk screening (triage) test that objectively evaluates an individual’s risk of cancer and MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) at the time of blood draw by analyzing the concentration balance of 17 trace elements (metal elements) in the blood.

- Single 6mL blood draw: Blood is safely collected under the clinic’s proper medical management. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes, minimizing physical burden and ensuring safety.

- Site-specific 'Cancer Risk Test': With a single blood draw, cancer risks are evaluated by site (6 sites for men, 9 for women) and scored on a four-tier scale from A to D.

## Testing Process and Key Pre-Test Instructions

※ Due to the need for mailing documents, advance registration is required approximately three weeks before the desired test date (by complete reservation system).

- Registration: Apply via website or phone. A full set of test documents will be delivered to your home about one week before your appointment.

- Test Day (Blood Draw): With a fully reserved system, blood collection proceeds smoothly (takes about 15 minutes). Payment is via convenience store post-payment, so no on-site payment is required.

- Results Notification: Your invoice (payment slip) will be mailed to your home approximately 3 weeks after blood draw, and test results approximately 5 weeks later.

### Key Pre-Test Instructions

- Food and Alcohol: No food after 9 PM the previous day. No alcohol from the previous day onward.
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water to facilitate blood collection.
- Medications and Supplements: Over-the-counter drugs and supplements must be discontinued from the previous day. Prescription medications may be taken as usual.

## Eligibility and Important Notes

### Age Eligibility

- Cancer Risk Test: Japanese nationals aged 20 to 80
- Cognitive Risk Test: Japanese nationals aged 50 to 80

※ The test was developed based on data from Japanese individuals within these age ranges. Individuals outside this age range or non-Japanese nationals may take the test, but results will be for reference only. Please understand in advance.

### Individuals Who Cannot Take the Test

- Pregnant individuals or those within 6 months postpartum
- Individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment or within 1 year of completing treatment
- Individuals undergoing dialysis
- Individuals with fractures, blood disorders, or immunodeficiency (excluding lipid disorders such as high triglycerides)
- Individuals in poor physical condition (e.g., sleep deprivation, after an all-nighter, immediately after intense exercise, under severe stress, or experiencing symptoms such as cold, asthma, shingles, allergic rashes, or allergic rhinitis)
