## What is the Metallo-Balance (MB) Test?

The Metallo-Balance Test is a risk screening (triage) test that objectively assesses the risk of cancer and MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) at the time of blood draw by analyzing the concentration balance of 17 trace elements (metal elements) in the blood.

- Only one 6mL blood draw: Blood is collected safely under the clinic’s proper medical management. The test takes approximately 15 minutes, minimizing physical burden and ensuring patient comfort.

- Organ-specific 'Cancer Risk Test': Assesses cancer risk by body site (6 sites for men, 9 for women) with a single blood draw, providing a 4-tier score from A to D.

## Testing Process and Key Pre-Test Instructions

※ Due to the need for document mailing procedures, advance registration is required approximately three weeks before the desired test date (by complete reservation system).

- Registration: Register via website or phone. A full set of test documents will be delivered to your home about one week before your appointment.

- Test Day (Blood Draw): As the test is fully reserved, blood collection proceeds smoothly (takes about 15 minutes). Payment is via convenience store post-payment, so no on-site payment is required.

- Results Notification: Your invoice (payment slip) will be mailed to your home approximately 3 weeks after blood draw, and your test results approximately 5 weeks after.

### Key Pre-Test Instructions

- Food and Alcohol: No food after 9 PM the previous day. No alcohol from the previous day onward.
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water to facilitate blood collection.
- Medications and Supplements: Over-the-counter drugs and supplements must be discontinued from the previous day. Prescription medications should be taken as usual.

This test is a private-pay service not covered by health insurance. Choose from the following plans based on your needs:

## Eligibility and Important Notes for the Metallo-Balance Test

### Age Eligibility

- Cancer Risk Test: Japanese nationals aged 20 to 80
- Cognitive Risk Test: Japanese nationals aged 50 to 80

※ This test was developed based on data from Japanese individuals within the above age ranges. While individuals outside these age groups or non-Japanese nationals may take the test, results will be considered 'for reference only.' Please understand this in advance.

### Individuals Who Cannot Take the Test

- Pregnant individuals or those within 6 months postpartum
- Individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment or within 1 year of completing treatment
- Individuals on dialysis
- Individuals with fractures, blood disorders, or immunodeficiency (excluding lipid abnormalities such as high triglycerides)
- Individuals feeling unwell (e.g., sleep deprivation, after all-nighters, immediately after intense exercise, under severe stress, or with symptoms such as cold, asthma, shingles, allergic rashes, or rhinitis)
