[Message from President Furukawa: 'I want to reduce the number of people who die from heatstroke even by one']

- Due to the severe heat in recent years, the number of deaths from heatstroke remains high.
- Among them, I believe there were lives that could have been saved if a comfortable environment had been provided.
- We hope to contribute to society by popularizing the "Cool Shelter® Sakigake" as "social infrastructure that protects human lives from the heat" and reducing the tragedies caused by heatstroke.

[Development Background] https://www.mhlw.go.jp/content/001476821.pdf

- On June 1, 2025, the revised Industrial Safety and Health Regulations came into effect, effectively making heatstroke prevention in the workplace mandatory.
- Most fatal accidents are caused by neglecting initial symptoms and delaying response.
- The regulations apply to work expected to be carried out for more than 1 hour continuously or 4 hours a day in environments with a heat index of 28 degrees and a temperature of 31 degrees or higher. Violations can result in imprisonment of up to 6 months or a fine of up to 500,000 yen.
- When heatstroke occurs, the best first aid to prevent aggravation and save a life is to cool the body until the ambulance arrives. The "Cool Shelter® Sakigake" will be an essential social infrastructure for this purpose.

[Future Plans]

- We target annual sales of 100 units / sales amount of 270 million yen in FY2026, and annual sales of 200 units / sales amount of 540 million yen in FY2027.
- We have already received concrete inquiries from top-tier domestic companies as well as from overseas (Southeast Asia), and are considering expanding overseas in the near future.
- With the "Cool Shelter® Sakigake", which consolidates all of our heat-shielding technologies, we will improve the working environment of small and medium-sized enterprises that lack financial leeway, and contribute to society by reducing the number of people who die from heatstroke even by one.

[Motivation for Development]

- Although "heatstroke measures in the workplace" were strengthened by the revised Industrial Safety and Health Regulations, it is difficult for many factories to bear the cost of applying heat-shielding paint or heat-shielding sheets to the entire factory (over 5 million yen for a 1,000 sq meter factory).
- However, depending on the factory or warehouse, it may be sufficient to just cool down the workers who are in hot areas, such as near drying furnaces, electric furnaces, or boiler rooms.
- President Furukawa wanted to propose something to such factories.
