BUG, operated by Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hisayuki Dekiba), will hold its "Summer Studio 2026" program, primarily focused on workshops, again this summer.
This year, in addition to art and design, we are expanding our genres to include games and editing, welcoming nine artists and creators as instructors. Participants can experience the "joy of creation" through hands-on activities while also learning about diverse careers and jobs.
The venue will feature an exhibition of works from a special program for junior high and high school students, as well as a mini-experience corner for casual participation. This summer, why not broaden your "likes" at BUG and fully enjoy the act of creation?

How to Enjoy Summer Studio
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
(1) Exhibition and Sale of Works Born from the Free Ideas of Junior High and High School Students
We will exhibit the results of "Art Brain Gymnastics," a special program for junior high and high school students, with graphic designer/artist Yui Takada serving as navigator. This program, held in June before the exhibition period, was attended by 13 junior high school students and 5 high school students.
The goal here is not to create predetermined works. It is an attempt to loosen one's perspective by observing everyday life and discover one's own "interesting" and "beautiful." Throughout the three sessions over approximately one month, participants have practiced letting go of existing answers and rules, thinking and shaping based on their own senses and interests, and communicating them to others.
The materials for the works are all everyday items such as sports newspapers, snack noodles, and cardboard, which are not typically used in art. Please come to the venue to see how these have been transformed into unique works through the "brain gymnastics" of the junior high and high school students.
At Yui Takada's suggestion, we will also experimentally sell the works in addition to exhibiting them. This initiative was born from the desire for participants to experience the possibility that their ideas and dedication can be received as valuable by others through the experience of "selling." By experiencing the entire process of "creating," "exhibiting," and "selling," we aim to provide an opportunity to consider how one's own expression connects with society.
* All profits from the sale of works, excluding shipping costs, will be donated to "Save the Children."
(2) Diverse Workshops by 9 Instructors
Throughout the exhibition period, we will host weekly workshops inviting artists and creators active in various fields. Anyone from elementary school students to adults can participate. It is also recommended for summer homework or discovering new hobbies.
