BUG, operated by Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Hisayuki Dekiba), will host 'Summer Studio 2026', a program focused on workshops, again this summer.

This year, we welcome 9 artists/creators as instructors, adding genres like gaming and editing to art and design. We will hold a variety of workshops where participants can experience the 'joy of creating' while working with their hands, and also learn about diverse careers and jobs.

At the venue, we will also have an exhibition of the finished works from the special program for junior and senior high school students, as well as a mini-experience corner that anyone can easily join. This summer, why not expand your 'likes' at BUG and enjoy creating to your heart's content?

Looking at casual everyday scenes with slightly different eyes. This workshop begins from such observations. When you doubt the familiar 'ordinary' and shift your perspective, the world starts to look much more interesting. Welcoming graphic designer/artist Yui Takada, who practices this from a design perspective, as the navigator, we will hold a program that makes every day more enjoyable.

The workshop consists of 3 sessions held over approximately 1 month. Together with Mr. Takada, everyone will observe daily life inspired by ideas like 'shifting perspectives', 'looking simply', and 'doubting the obvious'.

For example, participants will be asked to take photos of 'triangular' things from their usual daily life. It could be a triangular road sign, a traffic cone, whether 3D or 2D. By bringing them together, you will realize how many triangles were hidden in places you never even noticed before.

Based on the collected perspectives and ideas, we will also tackle the creation of artworks. Rather than trying to make something skillful, we will proceed playfully, cherishing senses and accidents. Slightly weird obsessions and eccentric flashes of inspiration are also welcome, and you might meet a different version of yourself.

You can also directly hear stories about jobs like 'graphic designer' and 'artist', as well as the works Mr. Takada has handled so far. Why don't we spend a free and fun time together, greatly expanding how you see everyday life? We look forward to your participation.

Message from Navigator, Yui Takada

It's a time to enjoy 'thinking and discovering', not whether you are 'good or bad' at it. What does it actually mean to be interesting or beautiful in the first place? Just by changing how you look at familiar things a little, the world starts to look a bit different. I believe that the power of imagination enriches life. There isn't just one right answer, and it's okay not to have one. It will be a workshop that uses your brain, senses, and body in ways you don't usually use them. It's okay if you're not good at drawing. Those who like to think, and those who are just somewhat curious, are all very welcome.
