Yurika Inc. (Location: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Operation Manager: AI ATAKA) is pleased to announce the official release of the iOS memo application "SimpleMemo" on the App Store on April 24, 2026.

"SimpleMemo" is a simple iOS memo app specialized in quickly sending whatever comes to mind to your own email address.

It revives the "Captio-style" workflow of "launch, write, and send to yourself"—which once garnered enthusiastic global support—in a form usable again on the iPhone.

Ideas that pop up during a meeting, tasks remembered while commuting, or instructions you don't want to forget right after a conference. It allows you to send the "information you want to save right now" born in daily work to your inbox before organizing it. Searching, storing, forwarding, starring, and archiving are left to your familiar email client.

"SimpleMemo" is designed not to manage memos within the app, but as an "entrance" to swiftly deliver thoughts to your inbox.

Development Background

The trigger for development was when our long-favorite memo app "Captio" disappeared from the App Store.

Captio was an app simply for "launching, writing, and sending."

Write a memo, and it arrives at your email address. Despite being such a simple experience, it was an existence that caught all daily memos, from ideas and tasks to meeting notes and late-night thoughts.

Even after trying various memo apps and task management tools, what we ultimately sought was Captio's "speed." Being able to write the moment the app opens, and finishing by pressing the send button. We believe that not interrupting the flow of thought is the most important thing for a memo app.

"If it doesn't exist, we'll make it ourselves."

From that thought, "SimpleMemo" was born.

What "SimpleMemo" aimed for was to inherit Captio's philosophy of "doing one function perfectly" while reviving it in a form suited for the iPhone environment of 2026.

Speed of launch, peace of mind when offline, and consideration for privacy. Rather than adding unnecessary features, concentrating on the single point of "writing and sending to oneself" reduced the hesitation to take a memo to the absolute minimum.

Based on the idea that "a memo is something you first send to yourself before organizing it," we aim for a memo experience that does not slow down the speed of thought.

Main Features of "SimpleMemo"

1. Send to your inbox in a minimum of 2 taps
Input immediately upon opening the app, and just press the send button. You can send the ideas and tasks you think of straight to your email address without hesitation.

2. Revival of the "Captio-style" simple memo experience
Just "launch, write, and send." We revived the once-popular self-addressed email memo workflow in an easy-to-use form for the iPhone.

3. Intentionally designed without folder/tag features
We omitted the decisions of "where to classify" or "which tag to attach," designing it so you can concentrate on taking notes. By leaving classification and search to the email client you are used to, it reduces the management burden within the memo app.

4. Automatic queuing for peace of mind when offline
Even in places with unstable network connections, it temporarily saves the sent content and automatically resends it upon returning to the network. It can be used securely while moving, underground, or on business trips.

5. Easy to use for plain text conversion
By sending copied text or content you want to temporarily save as an email to yourself, it becomes easier to handle as simple text stripped of unnecessary formatting. It can also be utilized for quoting, drafting, summarizing points, and formatting before inputting into AI.

6. Privacy-focused design
The memo text is stored encrypted on the device, and the design ensures that the operating side cannot view the contents of the memos. You can safely save work ideas and personal notes.

7. Supports 10 languages
It supports Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified), Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), and Arabic.
