Sora to Shiba Seasonal #20 Ginger Ale
A refreshing, ginger-infused taste perfect for early summer ballparks
The 'Sora to Shiba Seasonal' series offers a variety of craft beer styles in limited-time batches, allowing customers to enjoy the diverse and unique world of craft beer. The 20th edition features the 'Spice Beer' style, which, as the name suggests, uses spices and seasonings. This time, ginger is the main ingredient. With an alcohol content of 3.5%—lower than standard beers—it is a dry, easy-drinking ale. With the first sip, the pleasant aroma of ginger refreshingly passes through the throat, delivering a crisp sensation perfectly suited to early summer at Escon Field HOKKAIDO. With the launch of the 'Ginger Ale', the current seasonal beer, 'Sora to Shiba Seasonal #19 Tropical! Passion! Ale!', will be discontinued.
Partially brewed with Nipponham Group's original Hokkaido wheat brand 'Efu no ChikaraⓇ' Enhancing the spicy and refreshing flavor profile
For this beer, Hokkaido-grown wheat 'Efu no ChikaraⓇ' is used as a secondary ingredient. 'Efu no ChikaraⓇ' is Nipponham Group's original wheat brand, developed with consideration for the environment and society. The wheat's distinctive spicy aroma enhances the ginger flavor, resulting in a clean yet deeply layered taste.

[About the New Hokkaido Brand Wheat 'Efu no ChikaraⓇ']
'Efu no ChikaraⓇ' is cultivated at Nipponham Group's Yutaka Meguri Farm, Ltd. in Hokkaido, using livestock manure from its pig farming operations as compost. It is derived from 'Chikudai No. 1' (patent pending), a hybrid of spelt wheat (an ancient wheat) and spring-planted Hokkaido wheat. Inheriting the characteristic aroma and flavor of spelt wheat, it is an original Nipponham Group wheat brand born from environmental and social responsibility. The 'fu' in 'Efu no Chikara' carries ten meanings, including 'Future,' reflecting aspirations for the future.
'Wanting to fully enjoy both the game and gourmet food without worrying about the next day' Born from customer feedback: Sora to Shiba's first low-alcohol (3.5%) beer
Scene from 'Sora to Shiba Year-End Party' (held in 2025) and 'Sora to Shiba Ball Festival' (held in 2026)
Since its opening, 'Sora to Shiba by Yona Yona Ale' has valued opportunities for customers to interact with brewery staff through fan events. This 'Ginger Ale' was developed based on customer feedback such as 'When watching a game at Escon Field HOKKAIDO, I want to enjoy ballpark food and the game without getting too drunk.' Rather than simply lowering the alcohol content, the brewers used lactose to add body, achieving an ideal balance that delivers the satisfying sensation of drinking beer, even at low alcohol. This is a new proposal from Sora to Shiba by Yona Yona Ale, designed to meet customer desires to enjoy both the game and beer while minimizing physical burden. Whether it's a sunny day game or a night game with plans the next day, it can be enjoyed in any setting.
Comment from Lead Brewer Mami Murata (Nickname: Maremmin)
The inspiration for this product came from 'Ginger Beer' I encountered in Australia last year while studying beer. Although it's a popular alcoholic beverage in Australia, I was deeply impressed by its deliciousness! I always wanted to recreate this flavor at 'Sora to Shiba'—this 'Ginger Ale' is the realization of that dream. I hope this taste, perfect for early summer ballparks, becomes a new companion for cheering. Cheers!
