Montel Launches Limited-Edition 'Kikyō Shingen Mochi Mochi Hand-Rolled Crepe' in Collaboration with Yamanashi's Confectionery Brand Kikyoya

Montel Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yashio City, Saitama Prefecture; hereinafter "Montel"), a manufacturer and retailer of Western-style confectionery, will launch a limited-time collaboration product, the 'Kikyō Shingen Mochi Mochi Hand-Rolled Crepe,' in supermarkets from July 1, 2026 (Wed) to August 31, 2026 (Mon), developed in partnership with Kikyoya Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture; hereinafter "Kikyoya"), the maker of Yamanashi Prefecture's iconic sweet 'Kikyō Shingen Mochi.' *Availability may vary by store, even within designated sales regions.

Montel has previously launched successful collaboration items with Kikyoya's famous 'Kikyō Shingen Mochi' confection, timed with the summer travel season. This year's new hand-rolled crepe captures the long-loved flavor of Kikyō Shingen Mochi by combining a chewy kinako-flavored crepe batter with kinako cream and black honey paste. The amount of kinako cream and black honey paste has been carefully balanced to deliver the distinctive aroma of kinako and the rich depth of black honey unique to this collaboration.

The 'Kikyō Shingen Mochi Mochi Hand-Rolled Crepe' features a soft, chewy crepe made with kinako flour, filled with smooth kinako cream and rich black honey paste. The black honey paste uses Kikyoya's signature thick black honey, known for its unique depth and distinctive flavor. To recreate the generous kinako flavor characteristic of Kikyō Shingen Mochi, the cream filling combines an original kinako an (bean paste) made with Hokkaido-grown kinako and whipped cream, delivering a robust kinako taste. Kinako is also blended into the crepe batter, releasing a light, fragrant aroma with every bite. The rich aroma of kinako, the deep flavor of Kikyoya's special black honey, and the chewy texture of the crepe come together for a fully immersive experience.

In addition, starting the same day, Montel will release the 'Kikyō Shingen Purin,' a popular summer item featuring kinako pudding topped with black honey cream and black honey paste. From August 1, the 'Kikyō Shingen Cream Puff' will also be released—filled with two layers of smooth kinako cream and rich black honey paste inside a light, fluffy-yet-chewy choux pastry.
