Mes petits bonheurs — My little happiness—

Through soft modern realism, this exhibition depicts moments of small happiness quietly hidden in the daily life of Paris.

The warmth of a bakery, the quiet lingering presence of people in a room, the light gently crossing the city—.

These are ordinary presences, yet they quietly bring to light irreplaceable and precious moments.

There, time flows gently, sometimes feeling as if it stands still.

This exhibition aims for visitors to once again feel the delicate, light-filled poetry that breathes within everyday life.

At this art exhibition, we will be exhibiting and selling works created using various techniques, including oil paintings, acrylic paintings, pastel paintings, watercolor paintings, and digital paintings.

Expression in Oil Painting

Yoshimi Ishikawa's Haussmannian apartment in the 9th arrondissement of Paris is an architectural style born from Georges-Eugène Haussmann's urban renovation (1850s-1870s) and is a representative Parisian building.

Stone buildings that have been passed down through time are art and masterpieces in themselves.

Yoshimi Ishikawa extracts characteristic parts of her own home and expresses them on large canvases with oil paints as part of her daily life. This creates an atmosphere that matches the modern era, unique to modern realism.

Works depicting her beloved cat Carotte as a motif.

The characteristics of Parisian Haussmannian architecture, such as walls, doors, ceiling decorations, and herringbone floors, are depicted, evoking a sense of French charm.

Also, an oil painting depicting the intersection of Mogador Street near her home. This work captures a Sunday in Paris that is not a tourist spot.

On a winter evening with flurries of snow, the scene visible from the back window of her atelier is expressed through modern realism. These oil paintings allow one to feel people's lives through the light, depicting the daily life of Paris that cannot be seen from the main streets.

Diptyque: Two pieces forming one work

Diptyque, where multiple pieces form one work, will be exhibited for the first time at this art exhibition.

The etymology comes from the Greek word "Diptychos," meaning "folded in two."

Originally, it referred to two paintings connected by hinges that could be closed like a book.

These works offer a different space and sense of void compared to single-piece paintings.

The theme, "small happiness," conveys that by changing the way we look at things and spaces we overlook in daily life, we can transform them into sources of happiness. These diptych works show that a cluttered bookshelf, or many unorganized books, can become art in themselves if viewed differently.
