In many manufacturing industries, investments and maintenance of factory infrastructure—such as power and air conditioning systems that support production equipment—are critical, alongside direct investments in production machinery. However, while investments in production equipment have traditionally been prioritized in Japan, decisions regarding infrastructure investments and maintenance have largely relied on the experience and intuition of on-site personnel. To revitalize Japan's manufacturing sector, which faces challenges such as an aging workforce and talent shortages, it is essential to digitize and visualize infrastructure-related data and elevate decision-making to the executive level, just as with production equipment. Mudaless is actively addressing this challenge.
In contrast, the semiconductor industry has long treated factory infrastructure investments and maintenance as strategic decisions made at the executive level, due to their direct impact on product quality and yield.
With Mr. Shimizu’s extensive experience leading Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation, his involvement will enable Mudaless to integrate semiconductor-industry best practices into its DX solutions, thereby strengthening its mission to support the revitalization of Japanese manufacturing.
