Nakatsu City and MarketEnterprise Partner to Launch Reuse Platform 'Oikura' for Waste Reduction

Nakatsu City in Oita Prefecture has entered a partnership with MarketEnterprise to start the 'Oikura' reuse platform service on May 12, 2026. This initiative aims to establish a circular economy by facilitating the reuse of unwanted items that would otherwise be discarded as waste. The platform addresses challenges such as rising waste disposal costs and the difficulty of transporting bulky waste for elderly residents by offering on-site pickup and bulk appraisal services. Nakatsu City becomes the 322nd municipality in Japan to implement this system, contributing to sustainable regional development.
