Macromill Inc. has announced the results of its survey on the actual usage of Generative AI among 3,000 business professionals.

The survey reveals that the adoption of Generative AI has reduced work hours by an average of 16% (equivalent to 75 minutes per 8-hour workday). By job function, the 'front-office and planning' sector experienced the greatest efficiency gain, with an 82-minute reduction.

Regarding the use of this saved time, 38% of respondents reported handling tasks they previously couldn't reach. Meanwhile, over a quarter are using this time for value-added work, such as creative tasks requiring human insight (27%) or professional reskilling (25%).

Regarding adoption, companies are shifting toward 'multi-tool environments,' using an average of 2.3 tools. 'Infrastructure-type' AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and Gemini are seeing significant growth. While Claude's adoption rate remains at 7%, it is highly rated for its reasoning capabilities and utility in specialized tasks.

Finally, heavy users who utilize Generative AI daily invest an average of 10,372 yen per month in self-development. These users are twice as likely as low-frequency users to feel that their market value has increased.
